A National Symposium on Culture Change and the Food and Dining Requirements

DINING SYMPOSIUM CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER
PLAN B ANNOUNCED

Dear Symposium Registrants,

As promised, we are providing you with an update on how we plan to proceed with the CMS/Pioneer Network Dining Symposium.  We hope you will agree that "Plan B" provides a very timely and accessible alternative.  While the dates that the information and web program will be available cannot be confirmed yet, we want to share the details we have so far.

Please be on the lookout for a package from the Pioneer Network. As soon as all of the symposium materials arrive back at our office, we will be sending you a packet which includes all handouts and related materials.

Next, each of our speakers will be delivering their talk to you in a web-based format that you will be able to view at your leisure for a period of time.  Carmen Bowman will be moderating each of the sessions and will be providing an introduction to each as well. She will serve as "the glue" and will tie them all together. As you can imagine, this will take a bit of time.  We hope to have all of this ready for you within a month. Each of our speaker's papers will be available on-line as well.

Finally, one of the most important parts of the symposium is the comment portion; we really want to hear what you have to say. Immediately following each web presentation, you will be able to offer your comments, ask questions and provide solutions and suggestions.

This is just the beginning of our planning. Once all of your comments and suggestions are received,  your recommendations along with those offered by our speakers will be reviewed by a national stakeholder group and a year-long agenda for action developed. With input from all, we will surely be in a position to say to residents throughout out the country, Bon Appétit!

We look forward to working with all of you in the months ahead to turn our vision into a reality.

And, of course thanks, once again, for your patience and perseverance!

With gratitude and great anticipation,
The Symposium Planning Team
