Creating Home: Access to Nature Webinar Series
A Three-Part Series Exploring Outdoor Environmental Design and Green Spaces to Benefit Older Adults

Pioneer Network's now concluded three-part webinar series was extremely well-attended by more than 500 individuals from each of the 50 states. The series focused on the importance of having people, policies, and programs that support outdoor usage in eldercare environments.
The
Creating Home: Access to Nature Webinar Series demonstrated how creating green spaces and opportunities to utilize those spaces can be affordable, no matter the size of the organization or the capital budget available. In addition, the series examined outdoor access in terms of the revised interpretive guidelines for quality of life in nursing homes, and discussed F-Tags that relate to outdoor access and utilization. Based on a set of award-winning videos created by Susan Rodiek, Ph.D., a Professor in Health Facilities Design in the College of Architecture at Texas A&M University, the series explored current findings in gerontology, psychology and outdoor design.
