Creating Home in the Nursing Home
Welcome to Promising Practices
Since the issuance on June 12, 2009 of the revisions to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Interpretive Guidelines, providers have indicated interest in tools and resources for nursing homes to operationalize the guidelines which are all about resident Quality of Life, Person-Centered Care and a Home Environment.
Pioneer Network heard this need and created Promising Practices. This online series is intended to help providers:
Promising Practices in Dining
- Operationalize the Federal F-Tags and the June 2009 CMS Interpretive Guidelines Revisions. It offers providers a unique opportunity to access the relevant F-Tags and the interpretive guidelines revisions in one place that focus on ensuring that nursing home residents have choice and are treated with respect and dignity in their daily lives in an environment that is truly home for them.
- Create a one stop shop for homes that are beginning or continuing on their culture change journey for "tools you can use" as resources for various aspects of your journey.
- Share among providers practices, operational tools and resources they have used to operationalize the F-Tags and the Interpretive Guidelines revisions.
is our first topic with Promising Practices in Home and the Environment expected as our next focus. By incorporating and highlighting promising practices from a broad range of nursing homes and care settings, we will be creating an easy-to-use resource to enhance the quality of life for our nation's elders and those who care for and about them.
